Staten Islandis the most suburban of the five boroughs ofNew York City. Although still predominantly residential in nature, the borough has changed significantly since the opening of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge in 1964. It is the closest borough to New Jersey's Newark International Airport. You may want to consider staying in a hotel on Staten Island due to its proximity to Newark Airport, lower taxi fares and shorter travel times as opposed to Manhattan.
