Of the five boroughs, the Bronx is the only one which has the majority of its area on theU.S. mainlandand, with a land area of 42 square miles (109km2).Located north of Manhattan Island, the Bronx is home to the Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Gardens, and the New York Yankees professional baseball team.
